Abstract

The Role of Families as the Base for Forming Children's Character in the Demographic Bonus Era. The family acts as the first and foremost place to shape one's character. On the basis of that, the family as an informal educational environment plays a central role in preparing a child to enter further education. The family plays a role as the foundation for education for children by helping a child to have good character If a child experiences good quality and programmed education at an early age in the family, the child will grow into a creative, innovative and productive person. This era requires people who are creative, innovative and productive, independent. With that, the level of human dependence is getting smaller because the number of productive people is better than unproductive ages. character is one way to prepare human beings to be creative, innovative and productive. Families need to guide and shape children to become productive and quality individuals. If parents are able to show positive values, children will learn to do good and right things. Children with good character will be able to develop themselves well, able to be competent in the world of work and productive.
